Editorial Policy
Our guides are meant to be accurate, current and useful. This page explains how we try to make sure of that.
Source hierarchy
When sources disagree, we follow this order of authority:
- The CGST Act, 2017 and CGST Rules, 2017 (especially Section 68 and Rules 138 to 138E), and notifications issued under them.
- Advisories and announcements from GSTN and NIC, published on the GST common portal and the E-Way Bill portal.
- Official FAQs, user manuals and help documents on the E-Way Bill portal's documentation site.
- State commercial tax department notifications for state-specific rules.
- Reputable professional publications, used only to find official sources or where no official text is available, and labelled as such.
Verification and review dates
- Every guide shows a “Last reviewed” date and lists the official sources it relies on.
- Where we could only find a fact in secondary reports, we say so, for example with a Reported, confirm label, and link to where it can be confirmed.
- Where official sources don't give a precise figure (for example, some portal limits), we describe how to check it on the portal instead of guessing.
- We review guides whenever GSTN or NIC announces a change, and periodically otherwise.
What we won't publish
- Methods to bypass mandatory security such as OTP or two-factor authentication.
- Copies or imitations of government login pages, logos or emblems.
- Fake reviews, testimonials, ratings or claims of government endorsement.
- Unsupported legal claims. Our guides are general information, not legal or tax advice.
Screens and diagrams
Our diagrams are original schematic illustrations, not screenshots of the government portal. Menu names on the real portal can change; when they do, follow the portal.
Corrections
If you spot an error, email contact@ewaybillogin.com with the page address and, ideally, the official source. Confirmed corrections are made promptly and the review date updated.
Independence
ewaybillogin.com is independent. No government body or software vendor reviews or approves our content. If we ever add advertising, it will be clearly separated from editorial content and will not influence what we write. We will update our privacy policy before any advertising or analytics is introduced.
